Version 1.0
Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and the Conexus Youth Foundation (“Conexus”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to them, to our Privacy Policy and to our Code of conduct.
Last updated October 2, 2026
Draft. This is a plain-language starting point. It hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and will be before Conexus launches.
1.Who can use Conexus
You must be at least 13 years old and currently a student. We don’t knowingly create accounts for anyone under 13, and we delete any we find.
If you’re under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.
One account per person. The information on your profile — your name, school, grade and skills — must be true.
2.Credits
- Credits are how the exchange keeps track: 30 minutes of verified teaching earns 1 credit, and 30 minutes of learning uses 1.
- Credits have no cash value. They can’t be bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged for money, goods or favors.
- Credits only move after a Conexus moderator verifies a session. We can reverse credits from sessions that turn out not to have happened.
- We may change how credits work, and will tell you before we do.
3.In-person sessions
- Sessions happen in person, only at the approved public places listed in Conexus.
- Mentors are students sharing what they know — not professional, licensed or certified instructors. We don’t guarantee any result.
- You’re responsible for getting to and from sessions safely, and for any activity you choose to take part in. Physical activities (sports, dance, archery and so on) carry risk; take part only if you’re comfortable.
- You can leave any session at any time.
4.Verification and hours
- To check in or out, both people confirm their location and scan the session’s QR in person. After each session, both people write a short summary of what was covered.
- Conexus moderators review the check-in evidence and both summaries. Hours are logged only when a moderator verifies the session.
- Verified teaching hours become certified community service hours only when a teacher at your school signs your certificate. Whether your school accepts them is up to your school.
- Faking a check-in, sharing your QR with someone who isn’t there, or writing a summary for a session that didn’t happen is fraud. We’ll void the hours and may close the account.
5.Your conduct and content
You agree to follow the Code of conduct. You own what you post (your bio, portfolio, messages and summaries). You give Conexus permission to store and display it so the service works, and to let moderators review it.
Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share, or anything illegal, harmful, or meant to harass someone.
6.Moderation
- Conexus moderators (the team that runs Conexus) can review sessions, summaries, profiles, messages and reports to keep people safe and to verify hours.
- We can remove content, reject sessions, or pause or close accounts that break these terms or the Code of conduct.
- If someone may be at risk, we may contact your school or the appropriate authorities.
7.Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Download your hours log first; once your account is deleted, we can’t restore it.
8.Disclaimers and liability
Conexus is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it safe, but we can’t control what happens between people in person. To the extent the law allows, Conexus isn’t liable for injury, loss or damage arising from sessions or from your use of the service. (This section needs legal review.)
9.Changes to these terms
If we make a meaningful change, we’ll tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new version before you keep using Conexus.
